Ruthella Baier 1932 - 2016

Ruthella (Romick) Baier, 84, of Lima and formerly of Ada, died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at 10:35 a.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

She was born on May 20, 1932, the daughter of Arlie and Esta (Van Houten) Romick who preceded her in death.

On June 6, 1954, she married Elroy Baier who survives in Lima. Ruthella is survived by two daughters: Janet Baier of Lima and Joyce (Richard) Diller of Elida. She has two grandsons: Gregory and David Diller both of Elida, who were the loves of her life. Ruthella is also survived by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Baier as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rose Stoodt was a former cook for Ada schools

Rose E. Stoodt, 82, died on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 at 3:46 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.

She was born on Oct. 4, 1933, in Hardin County, Ohio, to Walter and Ruth (Kindle) Fox who preceded her in death. On Aug. 3, 1952 Rose married Galen L. Stoodt and he survives in Ada.

Rose was a member of the Ada Church of Christ Disciples. She was the former head of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a former cook for Ada Schools and she formerly worked at the Met Bank in Lima.

Also surviving are a son, Thomas (Darla) Stoodt of Elida; a daughter-in-law, Tamie Stoodt of Cairo; seven grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Garver of Ada.

James Pope was retired from Wilson's Sporting Goods

James F. Pope, 83, died on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at 4:15 a.m. at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kenton, Ohio.

He was born on August 5, 1933, in Dunkirk, Ohio to William and Nellie (Gillen) Pope, who preceded him in death. James and his wife, Mary Hughes, married on June 22, 1991.

Mary survives in Kenton. He was previously married to Leona Patton, who survives in Ada.

He graduated from Hardin Northern High School. James was in the U.S. Army serving from June 1953 through April 1955. He formerly attended the Victory Chapel of Praise. He was retired from the Receiving Department of Wilson Sporting Goods of Ada.

Doris Cotsamire taught school in Ada for 27 years

Doris M. Cotsamire, 83, died on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016 at 11:50 a.m. at St. Rita's Hospice, Lima.

She was born on June 19, 1933, in Auglaize County, Ohio, to Florenz and Persis (Schultz) Clausing who preceded her in death. Doris and her husband, Harold, married on July 3, 1955, and recently celebrated 61 years of marriage,

Harold survives in Ada.

Rose Lawrence was retired from ONU dining service

Rose C. Lawrence, 91, died on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at 7:58 p.m. at VanCrest of Ada.

She was born on Dec. 22, 1924, in Alger, Ohio, to James Henry and Ida B. (Sanders) Campbell. Her parents are both deceased. On Sept. 5, 1942, she married William L. Lawrence and he died Jan. 20, 2009.

Rose retired after 17 years of working for the dining service at Ohio Northern University, Ada. She previously owned and operated Rose's Restaurant in Ada for 10 years. She most recently worked at Hardee's Restaurant in Ada for 5 years. She was a member of the Alger Assembly of God Church for over 50 years.

Vickie Ward was a USV EMS paramedic

Vickie Jo Ward, 54, died on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at 11:45 p.m. at her residence in rural Alger.

She was born on Aug. 13, 1962, in Lima, Ohio to Frank and Stella (Rowe) Dyer. Her parents survive in Alger, Ohio. On Jan. 19, 1980 she married Dennis S. Ward and he survives in Alger, Ohio.

Vickie was a Paramedic for the Upper Scioto Valley EMS of Alger, and BKP EMS of Kenton. She was a member of Wake Up The World Ministries in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
