Boots and Buckles 4-H report

Meeting was called to order by President Chloe Anderson. Club said the Pledge of Allegiance led by Wyatt James and the 4-H pledge led by Callie Schwemer. 

Next was roll call with answering “What is your favorite project?” 

The minutes from the last meeting were read by secretary Josie Schwemer. Treasurer’s report was then given by treasure Issac Anderson.

Old business: Stall signs. For anyone who wants to buy an extra sign, they are $10 each.

New Business and Demonstrations:

Failure to yield accident on SR 81 resulted in no apparent injuries

On June 9, 2022 at  4:32 p.m. a motor vehicle accident occured at the intersection of State Route 81 and County Road 15. A 2014 Ford Truck driven by Steven Cope of Bellefontaine was traveling northbound on County Road 15 while a 2010 Ford being driven by Derek Burkhart of Alger was traveling westbound on State Route 81.

Family Chiropractic Center to provide chamber program in June

The next Ada Area Chamber of Commerce membership meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15. It will be held at 8:00 a.m. at the Ada Public Library, 320 N. Main.

Breakfast will be provided by Liberty National Bank.

Lindsay Walden, director, and Becky Neville, board president, will updates on chamber programs including:

  • Sizzling Summer sidewalk and garage sale promotion in July
  • Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival in August
  • Harvest and Herb Festival in September

The meeting program on health and wellness will be provided by Family Chiropractic Center of Ada, which is located at 955 S Main St. 

Hailey Robirds receives Liberty National Bank scholarship

Liberty National Bank offered three $1,000 scholarship opportunities to local students that completed the Liberty National Bank Financial Literacy Program. Hailey Robirds, daughter of Amanda Robirds and Brenda Welch, a graduating senior from Ada High School received one of these scholarships. Hailey will be attending Ohio Northern University this fall studying Pharmacy.

Thirty-six students within Hardin, Logan and Union counties submitted applications for the Liberty National Bank My Money Matters scholarship.

Special meeting of Ada Council: Healthcare insurer options

The Village of Ada council will hold a Special Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 to consider changes to employee healthcare insurance providers.

Summer Reading program generates anticipation and activity

The Ada Public Library's summer reading program hasn't even started yet, but material circulation has already received a big bump, according to Rhett Grant and Chloe Rieder.

Grant, the library director, and Reider, youth services librarian, have some of the year's busiest weeks ahead of them with a flock of activities for readers in June and July. The big summer reading program kick-off event is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 11 and will include:
