A stroll through Ada's War Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon was a treat for car, truck and motorcycle enthusiasts during the 3rd annual VFW Park in the Park car show. Stay tuned for results and additional photos on the Icon.

Nicholaus Dyer was a tattoo artist

Nicholaus Edwin Arthur Dyer, age 39, of Dola, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, 

He was born on January 17, 1983, in Kenton, Ohio to Terry and Sandra (Campbell) Dyer. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Dola. On October 14, 2017, Nicholaus married Jaime Bilimek and she survives in Alger.

Nicholaus is also survived by his daughter, Nora Dyer of Columbus; a sister, Lucinda (Josh) Ulrey of Ada; and a nephew and niece: Logan Sturgill and Victoria Sturgill both of Ada. 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lana Dyer, and his dog, Eva.

The Ada-Lost Creek Gator swim team opened the 2022 summer season at home against Bluffton’s Sardines in a West Ohio Aquatic League dual meet on Thursday night, June 9 at the Ada Municipal Pool.

Bluffton won the meet 465-274, the combined boys-girls team scores. The boys balance was 235-153, while the girls scores were 230-121.

Ada's Lily Baumgartner (15-18 age bracket) and Olivia Aggozino (9-10) paced the Ada girls with three individual race wins apiece.

Ada's Landon Stahler (15-18 boys) also touched first in three races for the Gator boys.

FUEL youth group hosts Back to School Bash on August 7

Editor's note: This is just a reminder for you to mark your calendar. No need to think about school yet!

The D1 Ada Campus church youth group FUEL (Faithfully Unscathed with Everlasting Life) will host a Back to School Bash from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7 at the War Memorial Park bandshell.

4:00-6:00 p.m. - Games, activities, popcorn and water. Bring a picnic if you would like. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.

6:00-8:00 p.m. - Get loud concert! The band 10 Talents (tours with Speak Truth) will provide music.Matt Clark with Youth Alive will be speaking.

There will be prizes, games and entertainment.

Boots and Buckles 4-H report

Meeting was called to order by President Chloe Anderson. Club said the Pledge of Allegiance led by Wyatt James and the 4-H pledge led by Callie Schwemer. 

Next was roll call with answering “What is your favorite project?” 

The minutes from the last meeting were read by secretary Josie Schwemer. Treasurer’s report was then given by treasure Issac Anderson.

Old business: Stall signs. For anyone who wants to buy an extra sign, they are $10 each.
