Community meal at St. Mark Lutheran on June 28

St. Mark Lutheran Church will be serving it's Community Meal on Wednesday, June 28, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. (or whenever they run out) at the church on the corner of Johnson and Lincoln streets in Ada.

ACE Day provides beautification opportunity

Ohio Northern University is currently registering organizations, businesses and residents for its annual Ada Community Engagement (ACE) Day to be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 9:00 a.m.-noon.

A partnership with the village of Ada, the ACE Day program provides opportunities for ONU’s first-year students to not only engage with the community but also contribute to the village's beautification. Students will take part in one-hour shifts (9:30-10:30 a.m) or two-hour shifts (9:30-11:30 a.m.).

Nau hired as new director of United Way of Hardin County

The United Way of Hardin County is pleased to welcome Martha Evans-Nau as the new Executive Director. She previously served the United Way of Hardin County as the Community Engagement Director. Evans-Nau received her MBA from Miami University and her master's in teaching (MAT) from the University of Michigan. She resides outside Ada with her husband, David, and the youngest two of her six daughters. 

Evans-Nau is replacing the previous Executive Director, Sean Beck, who resigned on June 20, 2023. Beck stated a desire to spend more time focusing on his family's business, Studio 419, and being more available for his young children as the reasons for his departure. The United Way of Hardin County wishes the best to Sean and thanks him for his service.

The Pantry shelves are low on items such as spaghetti sauce, dry pasta, jello and pudding, canned soup and canned beans such as kidney beans and pork and beans.
