Financial Aid Meeting at Ada High School Nov. 4

Ada High School will hold its annual Financial Aid Presentation for students, parents and community members. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on November 4, 2021 in the Ada Schools media center, 725 W North Ave.

A representative from Ohio Northern University will provide information that is applicable to all colleges and universities. Topics to be discussed are completing the FAFSA, (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), sources for aid, and specific concerns of those attending. The meeting is open to the public.

ONU hosts Community Day on Nov. 6

To help Ohio Northern University celebrate its sesquicentennial anniversary, village residents are invited to Ada Community Day on Saturday, Nov. 6, which will feature free admission to Ohio Northern’s football game against Baldwin Wallace University.

Help cheer on the Polar Bears at Dial-Roberson Stadium as they take on the 25th ranked Yellow Jackets at 1:30 p.m.

 

AHS Marching Band performance in Dayton Oct. 31

From the Ada Music Boosters:

We would love to see you attend the Ada High School Marching Band's final performance this year at Dayton Welcome Stadium, this Sunday, October 31st, at 7 PM for the OMEA State Marching Band Finals. Our students are energized by the home crowd!

Registration open for craft afternoon

Ada First United Methodist Church, 301 N Main, will be having a Craft Afternoon in Wesley Fellowship Hall on from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 20. Two projects will be offered:

  • A wooden snowman Advent calendar 
  • A doormat with your choice of 5 different designs

Cost will be $40.00 per person to cover the cost of materials and a snack. Registration is required by November 10. Register by emailing your name, address, and project you want to do to Judy Lusk, [email protected],

Organizers note: “The workshop is open to all persons, so grab a friend and come relax doing some crafting.”

Ada, Ohio polling places for November 2 General Election

For the November 2 General Election, Ada North and Ada South precinct polling places are located at Ada Community Health Professionals Building, 1200 S Main St., Ada, OH 45810.

Other voting opportunities include:

Military & Overseas Absentee Voting: Begins September 17 (46 Days Before Election Day)

Early In-Person Voting: Begins October 5 and includes the Saturday, Sunday and the Monday before Election Day

Absentee Voting By Mail: Begins October 5 (28 Days Before Election Day)

Election Day: November 2 (Polls Open 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.)

Nov. 6 ONU Documentary Screening at Ada Theatre

The documentary film “Heart of an Ideal” celebrating the 150-year history of Ohio Northern University will be shown at the Ada Theatre, 215 S Main St, at noon on Saturday, November 6. Tickets for the screening are free and can be requested at nextfuturefilms.com https://www.nextfuturefilms.com/ or e-mail [email protected].

The film premiered at the Ada Theatre during ONU’s Homecoming Weekend in October. The film’s producers requested an ‘encore screening’ to give the local community another chance to view the historical film.
