April 10 program focuses on human trafficking

A program on human trafficking titled “Ohio’s Real Tragedy,” takes place at 6 p.m, Thursday, April 10, in the Ohio Northern University Chapel.

Barbara Freeman, a sex traffic survivor, is the speaker.

According to program sponsors, “Over 1,000 children from Ohio are forced into trafficking each year with 88 percent involving sexual slavery. Toledo is ranked fourth in the country for sex trafficking. Anyone can be a victim. Get informed. Learn how to help.”

AmVets all you can eat fish dinner April 18

The Kenton AmVets Post 1994 will hold an all-you-can-eat fish dinner. The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 18, at the Post at 417 W. Espy St., Kenton.
It includes fish, baked beans, potato salad and roll for $7 donation. Call 419-673-1990 for more information and to schedule a free delivery.

EGGcellent Adventure April 5 at Apollo Career Center

Apollo Career Center and KISS 939 invite the community to its second EGGcellent Adventure, Saturday, April 5. Activities for the entire family begin at 7 a.m., culminating with a hunt for 20,000-eggs on the front lawn of the Career Center at 10 a.m.

A pancake breakfast will be served from 7-11 a.m., including all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and lemonade. Ticket prices are: adults: $5, and kids under 10, $3. Other food items available include shredded pork, hot dogs, chips, pop, coffee, water and hot chocolate.
