Active Parenting Now in 3, offers April parenting sessions

Active Parenting Now in 3, for parents of children ages 5 to 12, will hold a free three-session program in Ada in April.

The program is open to any interested adults. Sessions take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 8, April 15 and April 22 in Room 137, Dicke Hall on the ONU campus.

Program sponsors are the Ohio State University Extension, Ohio Northern University, Ada Public Library and Ohio Children Trust Funds.

Liberty Belles and Boys 4-H sign-up March 11

Liberty Belles and Boys will hold their sign ups Tuesday, March 11,
at Ada First Presbyterian Church. Please come any time between 6:30-8 p.m.
to view project books, ask questions, and complete registration paperwork.

You do not need to stay the entire time. If you are unable to attend but plan to be in 4-H this year or if you do
not plan to join Liberty Belles and Boys, please email Amy at [email protected] so we can keep our member list up to date.

Here's Ada's March Bingo schedule

Ada Bingo plays on Thursdays at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada. During March, bingo nights are March 6, March 13, March 20 and March 27.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; bingo begins at 6:55 p.m.

Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as traditional paper packages. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club, Ada Music Boosters and the Ada-Liberty Volunteer Fire Department.

Alger Memorial Fest' Committee serving breakfast March 1

The Alger Memorial Festival Committee is sponsoring a country-style breakfast on Saturday, March 1, from 7 to 11 a.m.

Serving biscuits, sausage gravy, hash-browns, scrambled eggs, fried apples, sausage patties and beverage. Suggested donation is $7. All-you-can-eat (on premises only). Carry out is available. Can’t get there? Call 419-679-8460 (not long distance) for free local delivery.

ArtSpace/Lima two-evening exhibit will come to ONU

ArtSpace/Lima will have a two-night showing of Phil Sugden’s installation, Pages from the Manual on Dismantling God, Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22, from 6 - 9 p.m., in its Ellen Nelson Gallery.

Phil Sugden is Assistant Professor of Art at Bluffton University. His work has been exhibited in more than 90 solo and 130 group shows internationally, including galleries and museums in New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Washington, D.C., Melbourne, and Kathmandu. 

He studied painting in Paris under French painter, Arnaud D'Hauterives (winner, Grand Prix de Rome), at the New York School of Visual Arts and the Paris American Academie des Beaux Arts in Paris,

Ada HS Student Council offering Valentine suckers

It's Valentine's Week.

Starting Wednesday, during 5A and 5B lunches, Ada High School Student Council will be sell chocolates for Valentine’s Day.

Each sucker is $1 with proceeds benefitting the American Heart Association. Chocolate will be available on Bulldog Boulevard during lunches only.

Order Wednesday or Thursday and Council members will hand deliver your chocolate on Friday to your secret crush.
