Summer series of Paint Inn at The Inn at ONU starts soon

Registrations are being accepted for the next Paint Inn at The Inn at ONU, according to Marilyn Reed, instructor.

"We are now scheduling a summer series of ONU Paint Inn. These being at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 4," she said. The June project will be painting sunset on the lake.

• At 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, the painting project will be bicycle with flower basket.

Lincoln Highway group visits Cairo auto collection May 19

The May meetingof the Western Ohio Chapter of the Lincoln Highway Association is at 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, at Biggie's Coast to Coast Restaurant, 116 E. Main St., Cairo.

After attendees order dinner individually from the menu, a small business meeting will take place and then the group will walk to 102 W. Main St. to visit the Tom and Carol Meredith automotive collecton. The public is invited.

Registration underway for July 11 Bluffton bike event - courses include 10 to 100 miles

Bicycle enthusiasts may register for the inaugural Ride to Remember bicycle ride scheduled Saturday, July 11, in Bluffton.

The event offers short bike routes for families interested in biking together all the way to a 100-mile route for experienced riders starting and ending at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.

Richard Ramseyer, president of the Bluffton Lions Foundation, sponsor of the ride, said, “This serves as a springboard to a make Bluffton a bicycle destination and bike center for enthusiasts of the sport.”

Bluffton's 44th annual arts and crafts show May 16

Bluffton’s busy summer continues on Saturday, May 16, with the 44th annual chamber-sponsored Arts and Crafts show.

This year’s event includes up to 70 booths featuring area crafters plus Bluffton businesses. The show, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. will stretch along Main Street from Elm Street to the post office.

Here’s what the day involves:
• Up to 70 booths on Main Street, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Farmers’ market from 8:30 a.m. to noon
• Pony rides at south end of Main, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Local food vendors, during the day
• Entertainment, late morning and early afternoon

Senior dance at Restore May 13

The next senior dance at Restore Community Center, 210 N. Main St., takes place from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 13.

Hardin County courthouse centennial celebration May 25

The Hardin County Courthouse Centennial Celebration will take place on Monday, May 25. 

The day will start out with the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Grove Cemetery at 10 a.m., followed by the parade at 11 a.m. and a re-dedication ceremony of the Hardin County Courthouse at noon. 

The Historic Courthouse will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Persons may tour the courthouse immediately following the re-dedication.

The Hardin County Players will present two mock trials, Hardin County vs Annie the Saint Bernard in the Common Pleas Courtroom, 3rd floor at 1 and 2 p.m. There will be cookies and cupcakes in Veterans Hall.
