The registration deadline for the Hardin County Citizens Sheriff’s Academy is Monday March 27th. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of Hardin County. Applications may be picked up at the Sheriff's Office, 1025 S. Main St., Kenton and returned with the $30 fee by Monday, March 27.
The Academy will meet weekly on Tuesdays from April 4 to May 16 from 6-8:30p.m
The Academy provides citizens an opportunity to see every aspect of the operation of the Sheriff's Office. Classroom presentations, demonstrations, and tours are part of the curriculum.

A string trio from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) will present a concert at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 27 in Presser Hall. The trio consists of Eric Nowlin, Yoonshin Song and Wei Yu. The concert is free and open to the public.
Nowlin is the principal violist of the DSO. He has performed extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. Nowlin has been described by the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader as “having a full, warm tone, expressive phrasing, and effortless technical command.”
The Ada Senior Citizens will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Community Health Professionals to play cards and other games after a short business meeting.
The group plans a luncheon at Table One In Kenton on April 12.
Ada area senior citizens age 55 and over are invited to join the group for $10 annually. The organization meets twice monthly
Once again, the Hardin County Extension Service is offering a free online Live Healthy program designed to Improve physical activity, enjoy healthy foods, and practice a healthy lifestyle.
Those who sign up will receive two weekly e-communications from Ohio State University Extension containing science-based nutrition, health and wellness tips. The program begins April 10 and ends May 22.
Are robins a sign of spring? Do opossums hang upside down? Does an elephant ever forget? Come test your nature knowledge at the Discovery Center during an Open House on Sunday, March 26, from 1-4 p.m. An interactive display will be available for you to see if what you know about nature is true or false.
All ages welcome to attend. This program and open house are free and no registration is required.
