Gene Parker, on the jazz faculty at ONU jazz player in Toledo has been making his efforts to spread jazz to ONU.
At 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, in Presser Hall, he performs with his son Ray Parker, Nitzan Gavrieli and Anthony Pinciotti from New York City. This is free and open to the public.

Max Gauthier, the Ada Public Library tech expert, shows Jane Parsons a few pointers on using an iPad during a class at the library on Saturday morning. He also taught library patrons about the Kindle later that day. Max will teach a free class at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, titled "Overdrive: your digital library from anywhere."

A breakfast to help the Lafayette-Jackson Volunteer Fire Department with operating expenses will be held on Saturday morning, Jan. 28. The breakfast will be held from 7 until 11 a.m. at the station house, 215 E. Sugar St.
The breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, juice, milk and coffee. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children 6-12, and free for children 6 and under.

The Ada Music Boosters Bingo will resume every Thursday evening beginning on Thursday, Feb. 2, at the usual location, 111 Central Ave., which is next to the Railroad Park.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Pizza, snacks and games of chance will be available throughout the evening with Bingo games beginning at 7 p.m.
The Ada Lions Club will host bingo the third week of the month with the Ada Fire Department hosting every fifth Thursday.
