Mom2Mom sale this Saturday in Bluffton

The local MOPS group is holding a Mom2Mom sale this Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 to noon at Ebenezer Mennonite Church gym, 8905 Columbus Grove Rd, Bluffton. At Mom2Mom sales, you'll find gently used kids clothes, covering all ages, plus maternity wear, accessories, and toys etc. This sale is sponsored by the Mothers of Pre-Schoolers (MOPS) group, which meets at Ebenezer.

There is no admission free. Instead, MOPS are collecting non-perishable food/canned goods for the Bluffton Food Pantry.  MOPS also offers a bake sale, by donation, with all proceeds going towards their program.

It's Bluffton's turn for a weekend festival

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday

FROM BLUFFTON ICON – The Bluffton community’s 16th annual Fall Festival, with many family-oriented activities, takes place throughout the community on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. 

New this year, Bluffton Family Recreation will host a “Kickoff Event” on Friday, Sept. 27, beginning at 5 p.m.

The primary locations of festivities include:

Maple Crest
Schumacher Homestead (Swiss Community Historical Society)
Bluffton Hospital
Downtown Bluffton (Mercy Health Bluffton Family Practice
     and the Farmer’s Market)
BFR (Friday evening)

Roaring '20s speakeasy at The Inn on Saturday

A speakeasy comes to Ada on Saturday, Sept. 28, and you are invited.

The Inn at ONU hosts a speakeasy cabaret from 7 to 9 p.m. offering a chance to travel back in time to the Roaring 1920s Prohibition era.

The evening includes appetizers, sparkling beverages and the sound of gold age jazz standards performed by the ONU Musical Theatre Class of 2020.

Tickets are $35 per guest. Reservation are required and seating is limited. To reserve your seat, call The Inn at 419-772-4112. A portion of the proceeds benefit the ONU musical theatre class.

The Inn at ONU is located at 401 W. College Ave., Ada.

Local organizations participate in Fall Prevention Awareness event

The Area Agency on Aging 3 will host an event to promote Falls Prevention Awareness Day on Monday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon. at the Area Agency on Aging 3, 2423 Allentown Road, Lima,  next to Tom Ahl and across from Walmart.

Several community partners, including two Ada and one Bluffton organizations, will participate to educate, increase awareness, and help provide resources on falls and fall prevention for our older adults.

• Ohio Northern will set up its mobile clinic bus, conducting bone density screenings for osteopenia/osteoporosis.

• Community Health Professionals and Adaptive Medical Marketing will offer information and assistance.

Registrations underway for Oct. 10 craft and sip event

A craft and sip event is planned at Crimson Lane, Thursday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., according to Stephanie Myers.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $40, which includes a painted sign and light dessert appetizers. Drinks can be purchased.

Instruction will begin at 6 p.m. Please pre-register and pay in advance by contacting Myers at 419-302-0336 or [email protected].

Crimson Lane is located north of Ada at 4600 County Road 1.

 

Ada's trick-or-treat night is Oct. 31

Mayor David Retterer announced that Ada's village trick-or-treat night will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31.
