Summer daze

The 2013-14 school year is in the books. Bailey Bowers captured some interesting scenes as elementary students left the school building for the last time until August. Here are some of her photos.

Hardin Tailwaggers 4-H Club preparing for summer

The Hardin County Tailwaggers are already four meetings in for the 4-H year, and the members are preparing for fun shows and state fair this summer.

As the weather warms up, the club works to get their dogs in top condition for the upcoming fair this year. Currently meeting are being held every other Thursday and when school is finished it will pick up to every Thursday.

Between obedience, showmanship, and agility the dogs and their owners have enough to keep them busy this summer. The workouts have been great so far and everyone is looking forward to a great year ahead.

 

ONU football summer camps May 30-31

Ohio Nothern University's youth football camps are held Friday and Saturday, May 30-31. Here's the schedules:

• Advanced football camp, Friday, May 30|
   Grades 9-12
   Registration 5 p.m.; camp 6-9 p.m.

• Advanced football camp, Saturday, May 31
   Grades 9-12
   Registration noon; camp 1-4 p.m.

• Youth football camp
   Ages 6-13
   Registration 9:30; camp 10 a.m.-noon

Q: What do UFOs, Bigfoot, crocheting and the Ada Public Library have in common?

A: The first three items on the list are program topics this summer at the library. That's only for starters. The library offers a huge selections of activities to keep residents of any age busy this summer.

Center for Democratic Governance and Rule of Law forming at ONU

Ohio Northern University has announced the formation of the Center for Democratic Governance and Rule of Law, which will focus on international development in the rule of law sector.

The newly formed institution will not only promote dialogue and scholarship in this vital field, but also participate directly in on-the-ground rule of law promotion efforts in developing post-conflict and post-communist nations.
