68 days and counting - here's next year's elementary school list

It's never too early to think about the 2014-15 school year. To get parents and pupils thinking about next school year, the Icon offers you next year's elementary school supply list.

The school asks parents to plan on purchasing these supplies over the summer so that their children can bring them to school on the first day in August or during the annual open house from 6:30-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14.

School starts on Monday, Aug. 18.- 68 days from today!

Here's Mustard Seed Cafe Dad's Weekend features

Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main St. , Bluffton, will offer Dad a free dessert over Fathers’ Day Weekend—Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to the new summer menu, Mustard Seed will be offering the following features:
Brunch:  Bistro Steak & Eggs with red wine mushroom sauce
Dinner:  Filet Mignon with Bernaise Sauce and Pasta with Mussels

The cafe now serves wine and continues to serve craft beers. Over the weekend, the café will offer an expanded wine list, along with Mimosas, Bellinis and Sangria. “Slate Pairings” are new for the weekend, combining small food offerings on a tile with paired drinks.

How many do you count? We count 21, we think. This flock of Canada Geese have taken up residence near the Ada School on State Route 81.

7th annual Bradley Joseph golf outing July 12

The 7th Annual Bradley Joseph Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Saturday, July 12 at the Colonial Golfers Club, Harrod. The proceeds from the outing provide scholarships to pharmacy students from northwest Ohio to go on medical mission trips.

The outing will be a four-person scramble with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. There will hot dogs at the turn and an awards luncheon to follow. The cost for the outing is $45 per golfer. Hole sponsorships are available for $100.
