ADA — The Ohio Northern University Mu Delta chapter of Beta Alpha Psi kicked off recruiting season with the second annual “Meet the Firms Night” on Sept. 4 in the ONU McIntosh Ballroom.
More than 50 students attended the event, including undergraduate accounting majors and concentrations as well as Master of Professional Practice in Accounting and Juris Doctor candidates, with 12 accounting firms, including Big Four, regional and local firms. The event gave students the chance to network and pursue internships or full-time opportunities.
The following week, on Sept. 9, Marathon Petroleum Corporation visited ONU. Two Dicke College of Business Administration alumni, 2013 graduate Andrea Meers and 2014 graduate Darren Miller, as well as the manager of accounting controls and processes, Melanie Mattingly, gave a presentation that described the skills and abilities they think interns should possess. In addition, they gave advice on what to do in the workforce and discussed current events at Marathon. Later in September, Marathon Petroleum returned to campus for the Career Fair to network with students for internships and full-time positions.
