Blessings for Christmas sign-ups

The Ada Blessings for Christmas project has scheduled family sign-up events and is accepting sponsors for 2024.

  • Thursday October 24, 2024 from 6-7:30 p.m. 
  • Saturday October 26, 2024 from 10 am-12 p.m. 
  • Monday October 28, 2024 from 6-7:30 p.m. 
  • Wednesday October 30, 2024 from 6-7:30 p.m. 

Sign-ups will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Ada, 201 South Main Street, Ada, at the corner of Lincoln and Main streets. Please use side entrance on Lincoln Street across from the Post Office.

Ada Schools issue October 23 notice of threat, person of interest detained

From the Ada, Ohio Police Department at 7:20 p.m., October 23

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 3:20 p.m. the Ada Police Department was alerted by the Ada High School and the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, of a potential threat made against the high school by a student.

Ada officers located the student at his residence, as he had not been at the school. The student was detained and transported to the Ada Police Department.

ONU dedicates Advanced Metal Technology Lab

Don Wood Foundation provides $1.05 million grant

Engineering students at Ohio Northern University’s (ONU) T.J. Smull College of Engineering have a new laboratory to help prepare them for careers in advanced manufacturing.

The University dedicated the Don Wood Foundation Advanced Metal Technology Lab at a celebration Thursday, Oct. 10. The lab was made possible by a $1.05 million grant from the Don Wood Foundation.

Until Village of Ada leaf pickup begins

As noted at a recent council meeting, Village of Ada leaf pickup does not begin until October 28. Meanwhile, please do not place leaves at the curb unless bagged. Leaves can also be dropped off at the Village’s Green Waste site on Pebble Court; call 419-634-4045. The pickup schedule is HERE.

Ada boys soccer edged by Falcon rally in district thriller

TIFFIN – The Ada High School boys soccer team led 2-0 but ended up falling 3-2 to league rival Riverdale in a Div. V district semifinal nailbiter Tuesday, October 22, at Frost-Kalnow Stadium.

WORPO seeks feedback on rural Long Range Transportation Plan

The West Central Ohio Rural Planning Organization is releasing its DRAFT 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan for public comment HERE. A link to the Long Range Transportation Plan, as well as a survey, will be available for review beginning October 23 - November 13.
