Ada Schools issue October 23 notice of threat, person of interest detained

From the Ada, Ohio Police Department at 7:20 p.m., October 23

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 3:20 p.m. the Ada Police Department was alerted by the Ada High School and the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, of a potential threat made against the high school by a student.

Ada officers located the student at his residence, as he had not been at the school. The student was detained and transported to the Ada Police Department.

After a thorough investigation, it was determined that there is no active threat. The information gathered will be reviewed for possible charges.

We would like to thank the Ada High School, Hardin County Sheriff's Office, and the Hardin County Prosecutor's Office for their assistance and continued partnership.

After school today, 10/23/24, we were made aware of a threatening message posted on social media directed at Ada Schools. We take every threat seriously and immediately contacted the Ada Police Department. A person of interest is currently detained, and the investigation is ongoing. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
