1971 Ada HS NWC Champs reunion October 22

On October 22, at the last Ada HS football game, members and coaches from the undefeated 1971 Ada HS NWC Championship team will be present to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that season. At least 30 members of the team along with the Head Coach, Gary Ricker and two of the assistant coaches, Tom Dearth and Hal Honegger will be in attendance. 

The evening will begin with a team dinner in the park. The team and coaches will be introduced at halftime of the Ada High School football game at War Memorial Park Stadium.

Pink for the cure!

Ada volleyballers donned pink t-shirt jerseys to play in a special Volley for the Cure Night match vs. Spencerville Tuesday, October 12. $2,293.50 will be donated to METAvivor Research and Support in Mrs. Erin Robinson's honor. Bravo!

Bulldog boys ground T-Birds

The visiting Ada boys soccer team knocked off Lima Central Catholic 4-1 Monday night, October 11, at Spartan Stadium.

The Bulldogs improved to 5-7-3 overall with the non-league win. 

LCC fell to 4-9 after the defeat.

Logan Jolliff tallied one goal and passed out two assists to lead the Bulldog offense. 

Carter Conley, Drew Long and Carson Gossard each scored one goal.

Ada keeper Colton Long made three saves in goal.

The Bulldog boys play at Marion Harding Thursday, Oct. 14.

Lady Bulldog kickers felled by Wildcats October 11

Visiting Delphos Jefferson defeated the Ada girls soccer team 6-3 in a Northwest Conference match Monday evening, October 11, at War Memorial Stadium.

The Lady Bulldog record dropped to 2-9-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the NWC after the defeat.

The Wildcat girls improved to 5-7-3 and 2-3-1 in the NWC with the win.

DJ led 4-0 at halftime, but Ada bounced back to outscore the Wildcats 3-2 after intermission.

Ella Marshall netted two goals for Ada, while Olivia Burkhart tallied the other goal. 

Ada Town and Gown, Citizen of the Year nominations sought

The Ada Town and Gown Association is accepting nominations for Distinguished Citizen of the Year for both 2021 and 2020. As it did last year, the organization will forego a banquet due to COVID-19 concerns.

Ann Lowry Coe was homemaker and "antiquer"

Ann Lowry Coe, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.    

She was born on March 15, 1940 in Fremont, Ohio to the late Robert K. and Jane (Buckley) Lowry. On October 17, 1959, Ann married Thomas E. Coe who preceded her in death on March 31, 2019.  Ann and Tom lived in Ada, Ohio their entire lives, celebrating nearly 60 years of marriage together.
