No one is waiting for the Broadway Limited or any other Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train today in Ada. The scene railroad depot is an Ada icon.

This is the time of year when Ohio residents long for an escape from the cold and snow, to someplace where it's summer.

Recently, area residents Christina and Nathan Seidner did just that with a eight-day mission trip to Uruguay. Nathan is an Ohio Northern University mechanical engineering graduate who is employed at Grob, Bluffton.

The couple are members of First Assembly of God in Lima. They took part in a mission that included 17 others, including members at churches from Findlay, Wapakoneta and Leipsic.

Although it was Nathan's first trip out of the U.S., this was not so for Christina, who had traveled to Peru previously on a mission trip.

When Todd Gillfillan was growing up, he was a patient of Dr. L.E. Hubbell, Ada chiropractor.

“I had bloody noses and ear infections,” said Gillfillan. “Dr. Hubbell always took care of me.”

In December, Dr. Todd Gillfillan, D.C., joined Dr. Hubbell in the Family Chiropractic Center practice, at 108 N. Main St., Ada.

Dr. Gillfillan, whose father is a Ridgemont High School graduate and whose mother is a Kenton High School graduate, said that he always had family in Hardin County, but he lived most of his growing up years in Cincinnati.

Junior Branden Rushton scored 19 points to lead the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to a 79-75 victory over Wilmington on Wednesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears now stand at 12-12 on the season and 8-9 in the OAC, while the Quakers fall to 12-11, 9-8.

The win also ensures Northern will  host a home game in the OAC Tournament. ONU can finish as high as the No. 3 seed with a win at Capital on Saturday.

Rushton shot 8-of-12 from the field and also tied his career high with seven rebounds.
