The nation is seeing a decrease in overall cases and Ohio’s curve is declining. So does this mean we are winning against COVID-19?

Yes, and no!

Yes, the vaccines are helping to improve control. However, public health officials and infectious disease specialists fear that this win may not last long.

The Icon has alway believed that Ada is the village of more polar bears than any other village in Ohio. And, here's another one of those cuddly creatures. Given the warm temperatures of this week, we are wondering when this bear heads for the freezer. You can find this bear and take it home with you for a small price at Gallery for the Arts 115 S. 3:45 p.m. -  varsity track

4:10 p.m. - senior composite

4:45 p.m. - varsity tennis

5 p.m. - junior high track

Here are the winners of this year’s virtual Ada Academic and Music Booster Purse Raffle held this past weekend.

One winning ticket was drawn for each purse, numbered 1-15 with one prize per winning ticket. Ticket holders were eligible to win more than one purse if they purchased more than one ticket.

Remembering Nancy Sabol

ONU establishes scholarship and suite of rooms in her memory

Ohio Northern University College of Law has established a scholarship and dedicated a suite of rooms to honor Nancy Sabol.

She served as the Director of Academic Support, Associate Professor of Law and Title IX Coordinator at Ohio Northern University until her death on April 25, 2020, after a brief battle with cancer.

Her family launched a scholarship at ONU Law in her memory. Starting in Summer 2021, the scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student in the Summer Starter Program, a program designed for students who excelled in their undergraduate education but received a lower LSAT score.

Cameron Marous named OAC men's lacrosse offensive player of the week

The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team jumped to a big early lead and held off a furious late rally to win 17-15 at Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday night at Finnie Stadium.

The Polar Bears improve to 3-3 overall and are 3-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 0-5, 0-5.

Freshman Sydney Kilgore (Pleasant Plain/Little Miami) tied a school record with 10 points, scoring seven goals and adding three assists, to lead Ohio Northern.

She tied the single-game mark held by Maddie Storr in 2019 and Rachel Shipman in 2017.
