Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment

PRP is the abbreviation for platelet rich plasma. PRP is obtained from one’s own blood and injected into other areas of the body to trigger a “healing” process. Platelets are cells in our blood that are part of the clotting and healing process of our body. During the healing process, platelets organize and create mild inflammation. During inflammation, platelets release enzymes that attract stem cells and growth factors. This is done to help repair damaged tissue.

ONU's Emily Richards 8th in heat at Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore. — Ohio Northern alumnus Emily Richards ran her third fastest time in the past three years on Thursday, finishing eighth in her heat and 32nd out of 42 overall in the first round of the US Olympic Trials Women's 800-Meter Run at the University of Oregon's Haywood Stadium.

Richards ran a 2:03.88 in her first ever US Olympic Trials competition - which is her second-fastest time this season and her third-fastest time since 2018.

The top two finishers in each of the five heats plus the next six best times advanced to the semifinals, which took an amazingly fast time of 2:01.42.

This summer’s largest project in Ada is strictly at ground level.

An artificial turf installation is underway at the Ada War Memorial Field. According to Bob Szuch, chair of the Liberty Township Park District board, the project cost is $800,000.

The primary user of the field is Ada school athletic teams. Discussion of the artificial turf between the school and park board goes back to January.

New dog groomer in rural Ada

A new dog grooming business has opened in rural Ada.

C and K Grooming, 9780 County Road 89, Alger, is now open and accepting appointments, according to Cassie Collins and Kyle Oglesbee, owners.
