Free community meal this Wednesday, July 28

St. Mark Lutheran Church in Ada announced its Free Community Meal for Wednesday, July 28, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Visitors may dine in, carry out, or pick up via curbside service.

Gospel music in Ada park on August 28

An afternoon of gospel singing is planned in Ada park on Saturday, August 28. The program is free and open to the public and begins at 4:00 p.m.

Scheduled to sing are Chris Baldwin, Heartsong, Randy Long, Rita Motter, Jacob Reel, Danny Rae, and more. Bring your own lawn chairs.

A free will offering will be taken for singers.

In case of inclimate weather, the event will move to Ada Church of Christ, 316 S. Main St., Ada.

Joan Frisch was a school bus driver

Joan Sue Frisch, age 78, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2:36 PM at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 2, 1942 in Fostoria, Ohio to the late Robert and Susan (Hedden) Gee. On January 1, 1962 Joan married Carl W. Frisch, Jr. and he survives in Alger.

Joan retried as a bus driver, through the years she drove school bus for Lakota Schools and Allen East Schools. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Ada.

July 27 public meeting to focus on the Grandview Boulevard proposed project

The Village of Ada will hold a special council meeting to discuss the Grandview Boulevard proposed project.

The meeting will take place Tuesday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Community Health Professionals Building, 1200 S. Main St, Ada.

Discussion will be over the scope of the project in order to give direction to the enginerring firm on how to design and engineer the project.

Responses from the survey that was sent to property owners will be reviewed as well as preliminary cost, funding subject to final determiniation of the scope of the project, projected schedule of events for the project and seek comments and answer questions about the project.

Dr. Monjuri Saha Das was a physician general practitioner

Dr. Monjuri Saha Das, age 59, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 4:10 PM at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born on April 3, 1962 in Netrakona Bangladesh to the late Sudhir C. and Promila R. Saha. On December 11, 1988 Monjuri married Dr. Kalyan Kumar Das and he survives in Ada.

Monjuri is also survived by her two children: Parthib Das of Columbus and Progga Das of Toledo; and one brother and six sisters. She was preceded in death by a brother.
