Ohio Northern University has partnered with Global Football, the Air National Guard, the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade and the Serbian Ministry of Youth and Sport to help with the growth of American football in Serbia.

Six schools from Ohio and Iowa sent equipment to Ohio Northern, which was then combined with ONU's donations and transported to the Mansfield Lahm Air National Guard base on Tuesday.

It will be shipped on a KC-135 cargo plane on Saturday and will land in Belgrade, Serbia, on Sunday.

Popcorn chicken with barbecue sauce, nutrition bar, mash potatoes with gravy, side kicks and milk.

The above is a serious sign that the 2015-16 school year is getting closer. The list is the menu for opening day of Ada schools for Monday, Aug. 24.

Members of the Shull family are pictured by the newly-planted tree in Ada's War Memorial Park. The tree planning in honor of Dr. Mark Shull was by the Ada Kiwanis Club. 

Lots of August and September events are are on the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce calendar, according to Deb Curlis, chamber president. Here's the schedule:

August

Ada Kiwanis Club members are getting ready for several late-summer events.

The club will manage the pedal tractor pull at the annual Farmers and Merchants Picnic on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The club will have a booth at the Harvest and Herb Festival on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The installation of club officers is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22.
