Ada Kiwanis Pancake and Sausage Day coming up

The Ada Kiwanis Club will hold its 61st annual Pancake and Sausage Day on Saturday, March 23 at the Ada High School Cafeteria, 725 West North Avenue, Ada.

The club will be serving all-you-can-eat pancakes and whole hog sausage. Serving will begin at 7 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m.

Ticket price is $7 for adults, with children 10 and under free.

Tickets are available at Dr. Mark B. Shull’s office, the Liberty National Bank, Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Restore Community Center, Ferguson Insurance, and from any Kiwanis member.

The Ada Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at noon at McIntosh Center, ONU. Guests are always welcome.

Joseph Peace receives I at solo and ensemble contest

Joseph Peace, senior at Ada High School, competed at the Ohio Music Education Association District 3 Solo and Ensemble event. He performed on the trombone in class B with the piece Romanza Appassionata by Carl Maria von Weber.  Peace earned a rating of 1, superior, which is the highest that a student can recieve.

Staying warm

It may be cold outside, but at least five Ada school buses keep warn in the truck barn at the school.

I’m a junior.

What classes are you taking this semester?
English, Art II, Astronomy, Government, French II and Integrated Math II.

Are you in any extra-curricular activities?
I run track and cross country.

I understand you play the guitar. Who’s your guitar idol?
Eddie Van Halen. I own his Greatest Hits Album from 2003-4. I suppose if I ever met him I’d ask what made him start playing the guitar.

Bluffton Arts & Crafts Show vendor registrations available

 

Bluffton’s annual family-oriented spring arts and crafts show is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 11, in downtown Bluffton. The 42nd annual show is sponsored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Registration forms for craft vendors are now being accepted for the show. Vendors who register before May 1 pay $40 for a booth. The cost of a booth after May 1 is $60.

No. 17 wrestling clinches share of OAC crown with 26-12 victory over Baldwin Wallace on senior night

No. 17 Ohio Northern clinched at least a share of the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestling title with a 26-12 victory over Baldwin Wallace on Senior Night at the ONU Sports Center on Tuesday.

The Polar Bears improve to 15-2 overall and are 4-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference action, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 4-4, 1-3.

Trailing 12-7, ONU won the final four weight classes to post the victory.

Northern's win, coupled with Mount Union 24-15 victory over Heidelberg on Tuesday, leaves the Polar Bears as the lone unbeaten team in the league.
