Bob Dylan tickets on sale for April BGSU concert

Legendary musician and cultural icon Bob Dylan will perform at the Bowling Green State University Stroh Center on Sunday, April 21, 2013.

Doors open at 6:30, Los Angeles-based folk-rock band Dawes opens the show at 7:30 p.m., and Dylan takes the stage at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets went on sale Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. at the Stroh Center box office and at ticketmaster.com.

General admission tickets are $35 and $45. Student tickets are $25 and available with a student ID at the Stroh Center box office.

"Community Highlights" returns in a new format - lists events taking place in Ada

The Ada Community Improvement Corp. “Community Highlights” calendar is back. In late 2012 Ruth Roider retired from creating the bi-monthly calendar.

The Ada Icon offered to continue this valuable community service, and the CIC accepted the Icon’s offer. The March-April version of the calendar was sent to CIC members and others on the CIC e-mail list yesterday.

A copy of the Highlights is an attachment found at the bottom of this story.

Angela Polachek, of the Village of Ada said, “In an effort to get an even wider distribution of the information in the Highlights, CIC wants to try something a little different.” 

Men's tennis falls to regionally ranked Coe (Iowa) 5-4

The Ohio Northern men's tennis team dropped a tough 5-4 contest to regionally ranked Coe (Iowa) on Thursday afternoon in Orlando, Florida.

The Polar Bears fall to 2-4, while the Kohawks stay perfect on the season at 16-0.

In doubles play, freshman John Mostowy and sophomore Sam Prewitt scored a tight 9-8(5) victory at No. 3 doubles to get ONU on the board.

In singles, the Polar Bears got two three set victories.

Junior Do Thai scored a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles and junior Blake Troller won 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.

Mostowy picked up a solid 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.

ONU’s College of Engineering presents its Distinguished Alumni Awards

Ohio Northern University’s T.J. Smull College of Engineering honored Dr. O. Glenn Smith and Keng Siang-Lim with Distinguished Alumni Awards on Feb. 25.
        
At ONU, Smith was a member of Sigma Xi, Alpha Sigma Phi, Tau Beta Pi and Kappa Kappa Psi. He played varsity baseball, basketball and golf and was elected to ONU’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.

Here are the number one Ada High School basketball fans, the bball cheerleaders. They are, Seniors: Trista Douce, Alisa Wireman, Cosette Brodeur, Kendra Paul, Schyler Waugh. Sophomores: Haley Jenkins, Kaylee Spangler. Freshmen: Sydney Hartford, Kaylee Newton, Shelby Hall, Billie Sherman, Makayla Nestor. Mascot: Colton Long (1st grader at Ada).

Going beyond customer service 101 is focus of next CEDC Entrepreneurship workshop

ONU's Community Economic Development Center will hold its next entrepreneurship workshop on Friday, March 26 starting at 5:30 p.m.  The event will take place at The Forum at James F. Dicke Hall.

Marc Woodard, BSBA '88, wlll speak on 'The "Norm Factor": Going Beyond Customer Service 101.  Mr. Woodard is the territory manager for Lifetouch National School Studios.

All CEDC entrepreneurship workshops are free and open to the public.
