Ohio Northern University’s Phi Beta Delta honorary society for international scholars presents “Crises in the Middle East: A Panel Discussion” in the Dicke Forum on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel is comprised of four professors from the ONU Department of History, Political Science and Justice who will share their insights on the Middle East crises and the ongoing civil war in Syria. After a brief presentation from the panel, a question and answer session will follow.

Kevin Plaugher sounds a lot like James Taylor. At least that's what the Icon thinks. You can see, or hear for yourself. Plaugher, Ada High School grad, is one of the performers on the 28th annual Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Harvest and Herb Festival.
This year's event is Saturday, Sept. 21 in downtown Ada.
Plaugher returned to Ada this summer at the invitation of Fred Reichter to perform at Music on Main in July. A short video of that performance is at the bottom of this story.
Plaugher will perform from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Mike Wright and Jim Boedicker will take the stage from 2:15 to 3 p.m.
Roberta Acosta, a rural development specialist from Toledo, will discuss the Hometown Cooperative grant during the noon Wednesday Ada Community Improvement Corp. (CIC) meeting according to Angela Polachek of the village.
"A team of representatives from the Ohio Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP) visited Ada on Aug. 26 to discuss the grant," said Polachek. Acosta will talk about the grant in greater detail during the CIC meeting.
The meeting is at noon in McIntosh Center on the Ohio Northern University campus. Agendas and CIC financial information will be available at the meeting.
