It’s Sunday in Ada, Ohio. The typical church scene unfolds with gathering people and a sense of waiting for the Christmas celebrations to begin, waiting a bit longer for the adornments of poinsettias and candelabra, waiting for the greens and nativity set, and waiting for all the special touches that come once a year.

Heath Jackson and BGSU Falcons soar over Northern Illinois

Heath Jackson, Ada High School graduate and BGSU red-shirt junior wide receiver, scored one of BG's five touchdown receptions when the Falcons soared over the Northern Illinois Huskies 47-27.

The Falcons are the Mid American Conference Champions for the first time since 1992. This is their first-ever win in a MAC Championship game. It is the 11th MAC Championship for BG.

Northern Illinois entered the game ranked 14th in the nation and were on their way to a second BCS game in a row until they ran into a flock of Falcons who were determined to end a three-game losing streak to the Huskies.

Cenzie Yoder becomes 12th ONU women to score 1,000 career points

Senior Cenzie Yoder became the 12th player in Ohio Northern women's basketball history to score 1,000 career points, as the Ohio Northern women's basketball team defeated Muskingum 81-71 on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 6-2 on the season and 1-2 in the OAC, while the Fighting Muskies fall to 2-5, 1-1.

Yoder stepped up and drained a free throw with 3:10 left in the game for her 1,000th career point.

Late-year tax moves take some of the bite out of tax time

The year is fast drawing to a close, but the Internal Revenue Service wants taxpayers to know that they still have time to take action for the 2013 tax year. $6,000 in prizes in 2014 Bluffton Center for Entrepreneur Business Plan Competition

Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs has announced prize money and seminar dates its 2014 Ropp Triplett Business Plan Competition.

First place prize is $5,000 in business start-up costs and a one-year BCE client program membership. Second place is $1,000 in start-up costs and a one-year BCE client program membership. Third place is a one-year BCE client program membership.

This is BCE’s fifth business plan competition and it recognizes the late Ropp Triplett, long-time Bluffton industrial leader and entrepreneur.
