ONU softball team raises $1,500 for Make-A-Wish Foundation

The Ohio Northern softball team raised $1,500 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through the sale of bracelets made by the team and 13-year-old Peyton Myers.

The Polar Bears met Myers, who suffers from Noonan's Syndrome and Cardiomyopathy, on a recruiting trip and took an instant interest to the bracelets that she makes. The donation by Northern will be on behalf of Myers.

She will present ONU's check and other donation to Make-A-Wish during a live webcast on Dec. 19. She will also make a bracelet, similar to the one the Polar Bears sold, during the webcast.

Ohio Northern will open its 2014 season on March 18 with a home doubleheader against Trine University.
