Register now for APL Wooden Gingerbread Houses

The Ada Public Library has announced the next Art Club meeting fon Saturday, November 30 at noon: "Come express yourself with wooden gingerbread houses!"

The first Art Club event featured local artist Andrew Steingass, who taught the fundamentals of pottery.

Ada Police Department seeks help in locating Todd C. Musson

The Ada Police Department is seeking the communities help in locating Todd C. Musson. Todd is a resident of the Village of Ada, formally of Kenton.

Multi-agency active shooter drill to be held at Apollo

The Shawnee Township Police and Fire Departments, in partnership with Apollo Career Center and Allen County EMA, will conduct a multi-agency, full-scale active shooter training drill on Monday, November 25, beginning at 12:00 p.m. This drill will be for staff only. The high school is not in session, and there will be no high school students on campus.

Village Council to vote on extending cannabis business moratorium

The agenda for the November 19 Village of Ada Council meeting includes a 1st Reading of "An Ordinance to Extend the Prohibition of Adult Use Cannabis Operators and Medical Marijuana Cultivators, Processors, and Retail Dispensaries within the Village of Ada for an Additional Period of Six (6) Months from Effective Date Hereof."

Other legislation to be considered:

2nd Reading of an Ordinance Amending Certain Sections of Chapter 741 (Peddlers and Solicitors) of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Ada, Ohio.

1st Reading of an ordinance establishing the annual appropriations for Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2025.

Ada Rotary to host Holiday Food and Wine Pairing on December 4

The Ada Rotary will host a Holiday Food and Wine Pairing at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4 at The Inn at Ohio Northern University.

ONU Men's Soccer falls 4-1 at No. 15 Denison

GRANVILLE — The No. 19-ranked Ohio Northern men's soccer team fell 4-1 at No. 15-ranked Denison in the Second Round of the NCAA III Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The Basics

Records: #19 Ohio Northern (14-4-4 overall), #15 Denison (14-1-6 Overall).

Venue: Barclay-Thomsen Field — Granville, Ohio.

The Match

Denison scored just 2:10 into the match to take a quick 1-0 lead.

Fifth-year senior Cade Winchester (Knoxville, Tenn./Alcoa) answered with an unassisted goal in the ninth minute to tie the game up.

The Big Red scored in the 20th minute and again 38th minute to take a 3-1 lead at halftime.

ONU women's soccer falls 2-0 to No. 3 Washington & Lee (Va.)

LEXINGTON, Va. — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team fell 2-0 to No. 3-ranked Washington & Lee in the Second Round of the NCAA III Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The Basics

Records: Ohio Northern (15-6-1 Overall), Washington & Lee (20-1-1 Overall).

Venue: Alston Parker Watt Field — Lexington, Va.

The Match

The Generals scored in the 26th minute and again in the 37th minute.

Senior Julia Flanagan (Dublin/Watterson) led Ohio Northern with two shots.

Sophomore Emma Gramke (Dayton/Centerville) had five saves in goal for ONU.

WLU out-shot ONU 16-5 and had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Women's Soccer earns 2-0 NCAA II tournament victory over No. 25 Sewanee (Tenn.)

Polar Bears play No. 3 Washington & Lee (Va.) in the Second Round of the NCAA III Tournament on November 17 at 1:30 p.m.

LEXINGTON, Va. — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team earned a 2-0 win over No. 25-ranked Sewanee (Tenn.) in the First Round of the NCAA III Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

Records: Ohio Northern (15-5-1 Overall), Sewanee (13-2-4 Overall).

Venue: Alston Parker Watt Field — Lexington, Va.

The Match

Senior Julia Flanagan (Dublin/Watterson) scored just 5:19 into the match off an assist from senior Libby Johnson (Fairfield) to take an early 1-0 lead.

Senior Brianna Gervers (Grand Blanc, Mich.) scored off an assist from junior Rileigh Glassburn (Delaware/Olentangy Berlin) in the 74th minute to go up 2-0.

Sophomore Emma Gramke (Dayton/Centerville) had two saves in goal for ONU.

Sewanee out-shot ONU 10-8 and had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
