If you saw reindeer in the sky pulling a sleigh on Monday evening, you may have been a little inebriated.

If you saw two reindeer munching hay in the Railroad Depot parking lot, consider yourself sober. The pair of well-behaved reindeer were a big draw, especially with children, during Merry on Main sponsored by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.

The holiday windows of Ada

You'll find this one at Ada Public LIbrary

By Monty Siekerman
Jenny Grant, with a little help from her husband, Rhett, painted the big front window of the Ada Public Library for the window decorating contest.

You don't often associate attorneys with being artists (Jenny practiced law near Atlanta before moving to Ada last summer) but she honed her window drawing talent when she was a teenager working for a movie theater.

Back then, she'd occasionally draw a picture on the theater window telling passers-by what was playing. Rhett, the new library director, helped some...by coloring in the building, tree, and wording.

Vancrest holiday fair on Saturday

29 craftsmen and independent dealers - just in time for Christmas

By Monty Siekerman
Jennifer Line of Vancrest puts the finishing touches on a tree that will be raffled off during the second annual Vancrest Holiday Fair on Saturday, Dec. 9.

After a successful first year in 2016, even more vendors have signed up for this year's event which will be held from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

There will be 29 craftsmen and independent dealers selling their wares to all who attend, just in time for Christmas gift-giving. The tree raffle is new this year.

The fair is a good place to find unique gifts. Vancrest is located on State Route 81 west, across from Ada Schools.

You'll find this plate on a white Nissan parked just off Main Street, Ada. Looks like a husband and wife combination.
