Here's a crazy Ada photo story

Check out the photos and see for yourself

People must think that the people of Ada are crazy.

The Ada Icon caught many of our local residents and ONU students and employees dressed in unusual ways during the year.

Take a gander at these 2017 Ada Icon photos and judge for yourself. Have aliens landed and taken up residency in the Village of Ada?

One might think so. We begin with Joel Luecke as Mr. Banana, but he's helping with the Colleges Against Cancer at Relay for Life...or so he said. Check out some of the other outlandish Ada folks and see if you recognize them (maybe you are pictured).

WAYNESFIELD - Allen East broke away from a halftime tie to post a 52-47 win over rival Ada in the third-place game of the inaugural Border Battle boys basketball tournament in Waynesfield Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs fell to 2-7 with the loss, while the Mustangs improved to 3-5 after the victory. Their win avenged a 40-32 loss at rival Ada 15 days earlier.

Cold shooting from the floor by both teams matched the weather outside, but AE shot accurately beyond the arc and at the foul line to provide the difference.

It used to be libraries were book depositories, borrow a book and return it.

They were places to read the latest magazines and newspapers, as well. Not anymore.

Libraries continue those services, but have added programming, many events for children from 0-5 on up to crocheting and quilting.

So, here’s a look at a few of the many activities at the Ada Public Library in 2017. The library celebrated its centennial, welcomed a new director, and began a major addition and renovation in the year that now closes.
