Streamline Insurance and Wine and Design window decorating contest winner

It's two times at bat and two home runs for Streamline Insurance and Wine and Design, located at 220 N. Main.
They won the Chamber of Commerce window decorating contest for the second year, a contest which is only in its second year.
Mark and Vicki Southwood own Streamline while their daughter Amanda Morrison has Wine and Design. The Ada Public Library placed second. There was a three-way tie for third with COSI, Hays Insurance, and Liberty National Bank.

Dr. Terrence E. Sheridan, Jr., 55, died on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 at 3:49 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
Terry was born on July 5, 1962, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Terrence E. and Judith M. (Mladsi) Sheridan, Sr., and they survive in North Bloomfield. On Jan. 7, 1997 Terry married Maria Cristina Petcu and she survives in Ada.
Terry was a Professor of Physics at Ohio Northern University. He received his B.A. in physics from Hiram College in 1983 and his Ph.D. in experimental plasma physics from Dartmouth College in 1987. Terry had over 100 refereed technical publications. He loved coaching and watching his sons play soccer.

Ohio Northern senior linebacker Zach Schmerge (Wapakoneta) and sophomore running back Christiaan Williams (Sidney/Anna) were named Second Team All-North Region for 2017 by D3football.com.
Schmerge is now a 3-time All-Region honoree, earning Second Team honors in 2016 and Third Team in 2015.
He is also a 3-time First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree and has led the Polar Bears in tackles for each of the past three seasons.
This year, he led the team and was fourth in the OAC with 94 tackles.

The annual Hardin County Democratic Party Christmas dinner will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Henry's Restaurant in Kenton. Greetings from Chairman Michael Hubbell will be at 6 p.m. with the catered dinner to follow. There will be a business meeting at 7 p.m.
The agenda will include a review of the November roundtable discussion, redistricting petition drive update, possible MLK Day event, and presentation about Sen. Sherrod Brown's positions.

Miriam L. Marshall, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 11:05 p.m. at Vancrest of Ada in the presence of her family.
She was born on November 19, 1931 in Hardin County, Ohio to Frank D. and Margaret (Welling) Jones who preceded her in death. On July 26, 1953 she married Jack D. Marshall and he died on November 27, 2014. They had been married for over 61 years.

Ada Senior Citizens will pack 35 Christmas baskets for the homebound when the group meets at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Community Health Professionals. Coffee and donuts will be available. Members may bring packaged food, candy, and other items to help fill the baskets.
Those 55 and over are invited to join the organization. The membership fee is $10 annually. The group meets twice a month.

Birchaven Village will be holding its annual Bazaar Days craft and bake sale Friday, Dec. 8 through Friday, Dec. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Birchaven Gift Shop, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay.
The event will feature a variety of items handmade by residents, staff, volunteers and families. Items for sale include:
* Homemade candy including fudge, buckeyes, turtles, peppermint bark and chocolate-covered pretzels

Senior Chris Garbig (Wilder, Ky./Highlands) has been named a Second Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America for his efforts on the field and in the classroom during the 2017 season.
The senior earned his first career CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition.
Garbig, a senior Accounting major from Wilder, Ky., added to his impressive list of academic accomplishments.

The Hardin County Sheriff's Office reports that it responded to a crash that found a 14-year-old runaway from Cridersville was involved in a single car accident at SR 31 and CR 265 which is between Kenton and Mt. Victory. The auto had been stolen from a residence in Auglaize County.
The youth failed to negotiate a turn, traveled off the north side of the road, through a yard, and crashed into a tree near a creek and bridge.
The youth was released to the custody of the Cridersville Police Department.
