Kenton High School presents The Music Man

Kenton High School Vocal Music Department will present The Music Man on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m.  

All shows are in the Kenton Middle School Auditorium.

Tickets are available at the KHS office, or at the door the day of the show.   Adults $7, Sr Citizens $6, students $5.

Women's tennis tops Biola (Calif.) 9-0, falls to Whittier (Calif.) 6-3

The Ohio Northern women's tennis team concluded its spring trip with a 9-0 victory over Biola (Calif.), but fell to regionally ranked Whittier (Calif.) on Tuesday.

The Polar Bears are now 9-2 on the season. Biola fell to 1-9 and Whittier improved to 4-1.

Against Biola, ONU picked up at 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles by senior Michelle Tuma and freshman Rachael Miller.

Sophomores Kristin Cellentani and Brittany Miller won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles and juniors Carly Olmstead and Lauren Rife were victorious by a 8-4 score at No. 3 doubles.

Hardin Democratic Central and Executive Committees meet March 13

The next meeting of the Hardin County Democratic Central and Executive Committees is Wednesday, March 13, at 7 p.m. at the Kenton Moose Family Center, 801 W. Lima St., Kenton, according to Don Traxler of Ada.

Committee members should park on the east side of the facility and enter at the lower level.

Committee members will evaluate the success of the Presidents’ Day Luncheon which was held Saturday, February 23, at the Kenton Moose Family Center with Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald as the keynote speaker.

The Village Voice: Bookmark it - A new website for paying your Ada water bill online

If you have attempted to pay your water bill on the Village website within the past week, you may have encountered some difficulty. The village staff has been working diligently to improve the process for our customers, and that work has resulted in some changes we are excited about.

Costumers now need to visit www.adaoh.org to pay their water bills online. Once on that site, customers should see a tab at the far right top of the page titled “Pay Water Bill.” A single click on that title will provide customers with a form to complete for payment processing.

Richland Manor chili cookoff benefits area food pantry

Richland Manor, Swaney Road Bluffton, hosted a chili cook off on Feb. 21. Over 70 people attended the event, which featured 14 varieties of chili.

The winners follow:
• First place and winner of $100: Russ Goedde for his Sante Fe Chili
• Second place and winner of $75: Roberta Beemer for her Sausage Chili
• Third place and winner of $50: Edwin and Gwynne Sortenson for their White Chicken Chili

Blanchard Valley Hospital accredited by the Ohio State Medical Association

Blanchard Valley Hospital (BVH) has been surveyed by the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) Focused Task Force on Accreditation and awarded accreditation for six years as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians.

“We are very proud to receive the six year accreditation, which is the highest accreditation level possible,” said Beverly Woodward, BVH continuing medical education coordinator. “This recognition speaks volumes to the quality of our medical education programs and the educational aspirations of the physicians in our community.”

Annabelle Kritzler, 1915 - 2015

Annabelle Kritzler, 98, died at 2:05 a.m. March 2, 2013, at Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton.

She was born March 2, 1915, in Hardin County to Harley and Ottie James Skidmore, who preceded her in death.

On Dec. 7, 1937, she married Mason Tabor, who died May 30, 1959. On Dec. 13, 1962, she married Walter Kritzler, who died June 29, 1999.

Mrs. Kritzler was a homemaker. She was a member of Bridgeport Church of Christ, Dunkirk. She was a 1931 graduate of Kenton High School.

Survivors include a stepson, Tom (Janice) Kritzler, of Alger; a stepdaughter, Madelyn (Steve) Lowery, of Kenton; and eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
