The No. 20 Ohio Northern women's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season to Capital by a 2-1 score Wednesday afternoon at Bernlohr Stadium.

The Polar Bears fall to 6-1-3 on the season and 1-1-0 in the OAC while the Crusaders now stand at 6-5-1, 1-0-1.

Northern got on the board 3:45 into the game when sophomore Sandra Thorarensen took a pass from junior Lauren Brown and beat the goalie.

The goal was fifth of the season for Thorarensen while Brown picked up her fourth assist.

Capital would respond at the 23:12 mark when Livvy Hein fired a shot over ONU goalie Erin Waehner's head and into the net.

The Ada Bulldogs traveled to Paulding last Friday to take on the 0-5 Panthers, coming away with a 54-14 victory in their fourth conference win of the season. The win streak continues, as this victory puts the Bulldogs at 6-0 on the season (4-0 NWC) and the Panthers at 0-6 (0-4 NWC).

Junior Colin Burns won Medalist honors on a record-setting day as the Ohio Northern men's golf team won the Mount Union Fall Invitational Sunday and Monday at Tannenhauf Golf Course and the Alliance Country Club.

The Polar Bears (21-4) won the 7-team tournament with a 36-hole school record score of 591.

Ohio Northern also broke its 18-hole team record with a first round 286 on Sunday.

Burns shattered his own 36-hole school record with a tournament-winning 70-70—140, claiming Medalist honors by six strokes.

Mount Union was second with a 607, Otterbein was third with a 608 and John Carroll was fourth with a 611.

Senior All American Alison Steinbrunner has been named OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season.

On Saturday, Steinbrunner finished first at the All-Ohio Collegiate Championships.

She navigated the 5k course in 17:53.47.

No. 25 Ohio Northern finished fourth out of 14 teams.

Ohio Northern will be in action again on October 13 when they participate in the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational at 8:30 am (CST).
