The attached Shallow Run Pilot Project update for Winter 2024– a 4-page newsletter–is being distributed by the Hardin Soil & Water Conservation District.
The Pilot Watershed Project, which is being conducted in the Shallow Run Watershed in northern Hardin County, is a five-year multi-million dollar effort to demonstrate that extensive application of agricultural conservation practices can create measurable improvements in water quality.
The Project is led by Dr. Jay Martin, professor at The Ohio State University with strong support from many public and private partners. The Hardin Soil & Water Conservation District provides local leadership for technical and financial assistance to Project participants.

A 2025 Pilot Winter Farmer-Partner Lunch will be held on February 4, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. at Ralphie’s in Kenton. A project update and research results will be shared.
