Aspen Scott of Ada provided Santa Claus her Christmas wish list during Santa's visit to the Ada Public Library on Monday.

Rhythm in Motion offers 4-7 p.m. shopping event on Friday

“Join us for an afternoon of shopping and fun at 220 N. Main St. Ada, on Friday, Dec. 14,” says Darcey Schneider of Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre.

The event will have seven vendors:

• Scentsy
• Mary Kay
• Wild Tree
• Thirty One
• Avon
• and homemade crafts from Megan Watson

The first 25 shoppers will receive a raffle ticket to be entered in the door buster drawing of our gift-pack valued at over $100.

Shoppers who may bring canned goods to benefit the Ada food pantry will receive additional raffle tickets.

Ada Music Boosters to gift wrap for donations at Lima Mall

The Ada Music Boosters will staff the gift wrapping table at the Lima Mall on Thursday, Dec. 20, from noon until 9 p.m., according to Dave Smittle, Treasurer.

Members of the community are encouraged to bring packages to the gift wrapping table at the mall that day and the Booster members will be happy to wrap your gifts for you for a donation of your choice.

The gift wrapping table is located inside the mall, just west of the J.C.Penney entrance.

All supplies, including wrapping paper, bows, ribbon, tags and boxes will be available.

Audrey V. Binkley, 1925 - 2012

Audrey V. Binkley, age 87, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 5:55 am at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.

She was born on June 13, 1925 in Hardin County, Ohio to Simon and LaVella (Carder) Barry, who preceded her in death. She married Darrell Binkley and they were divorced.

Audrey previously worked as a caregiver at Hanley House in Lima. She was a member of the Ada Church of Christ (Disciples). She was a Bible school teacher and volunteer. 

Pawlitz named OAC wrestler of the week

Junior Michael Pawlitz has been named OAC Wrestler of the Week.

Pawlitz, ranked No. 7 at 197 pounds by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, posted a 2-0 record this week.

On Tuesday, he recorded an 8-0 major decision over Justin Meinke in the Polar Bears 27-15 win over Mount Saint Joseph.

On Friday, Pawlitz recorded a pin in just 48 seconds to help Northern top Manchester (Ind.), 30-15.

He leads the team with 10 wins on the season.

No. 17 Ohio Northern will return to action this weekend, when they compete at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Ind.
