Adelyn Althaus wins Icon football contest for week 6

The winner of Week 6 of The Icon Football Contest is Adelyn Althaus.  Adelyn and Luke Amstutz both correctly picked 14 games this week.  Both contestants chose the same twotie-breakers.  Adelyn was declared the winner by virtue of entering her picks first.

Bulldog special teams shine in a rainy homecoming game

Stormy weather and wet field conditions did nothing to slow the Bulldog offense last Friday as they jumped ahead early and cruised to a 30-6 Northwest Conference victory over the visiting Paulding Panthers on Homecoming night. The win lifts Ada's record to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference, keeping them tied with Delphos Jefferson for first place in the league.

Men's CC: Rosenbaum, Berton lead ONU to 5th place finish

Junior Nathan Rosenbaum finished in ninth place and senior Mark Berton finished 13th to lead the Ohio Northern men's cross country team to a fifth place finish at the All-Ohio Championships on Friday afternoon.

The Polar Bears finished with 149 points in the 21 team field.

Case Western won the meet with 106 points, John Carroll was second with 111 points and Oberlin was third with 118 points.

Rosenbaum navigated the 8,000-meter course in 26:25.91, while Berton finished with a time of 26:34.80.

Senior Mathew Johnson notched a 28th place finish in 27:05.41.

Cross country: ONU team 10th an All-Ohio

The Ohio Northern women's cross country team finished 10th of 21 teams at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville on Friday.

Northern had 314 points in the 21 team field.

Oberlin finished first with 54 points, No. 31 Case Western was second with 66 and Mount Union was third with 70.

Oberlin's Molly Martorella won the meet in 22:13.96.

Sophomore Kara Sosinski led the Polar Bears across the finish line, completing the 6,000-meter course in 24:38.39, which placed her 39th.

Junior Brittany Lang finished 61st in 25:19.66 and junior Catie Huber finished 66th, crossing the finish line in 25:46.91.
