Junior Nathan Rosenbaum finished in ninth place and senior Mark Berton finished 13th to lead the Ohio Northern men's cross country team to a fifth place finish at the All-Ohio Championships on Friday afternoon.
The Polar Bears finished with 149 points in the 21 team field.
Case Western won the meet with 106 points, John Carroll was second with 111 points and Oberlin was third with 118 points.
Rosenbaum navigated the 8,000-meter course in 26:25.91, while Berton finished with a time of 26:34.80.
Senior Mathew Johnson notched a 28th place finish in 27:05.41.
Senior Jeff Denny also recorded a top-50 finish, coming in 46th place with a time of 27:37.24.
"Today was a very tough meet against great competition from all over the state," said head coach Jason Maus. "Although it may not have gone as well as we wanted, we learned a lot about us as a team and will get better."
Geno Arthur of Oberlin captured the Division III race in 25:42.00.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Oct. 19 when it competes in the Oberlin Rumble at 10:45 am.
