Ada resident Larry Kindle was an ONU graduate

Larry D. Kindle, 70, died on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at 5 p.m.at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.

He was born on Jan. 12, 1944, in Bluffton, Ohio. Parents were Paul and Frieda (Vandemark) Kindle, they preceded him in death. On Nov. 27, 1965 he married Marilyn M. Lowe and she survives in Ada.

Mr. Kindle had served six years in the National Guard. He was a graduate of the Toledo Meatcutting School, was a realtor and a graduate of Ohio Northern University.

Full bloom in Ada

Ohio Northern University presents artist Franklin Einspruch

The Ohio Northern University Department of Art and Design presents artist Franklin Einspruch, who will speak about his work and career, on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 9:30 a.m. at the Wilson Art Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Following his presentation, Einspruch will take questions and be available to discuss students’ work and portfolios. Einspruch has a creative practice that spans traditional and digital media, images and words, and various recombinations of paintings, drawings, watercolors, essays, comics, programming and web art.

Barbara Tighe was a lifelong Ada resident

Barbara E. Tighe, 94, died Monday, February 24, 2014 at 3:30 a.m. at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, Ohio.

She was born on June 15, 1919 in Hardin County, Ohio to Elza and Sara (Wingate) Elwood, who preceded her in death. On August 29, 1942 she married Andrew "Andy" Tighe and he died on August 10, 1997.

Barbara was a registered nurse and retired as a private duty nurse and administrator for Avanell Stambaugh. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Ada. She graduated from Ada High School and was a 1940 graduate of the Lima Memorial School of Nursing.

Over 8,100 meals served at ReStore in 2013

• earned $12,919 through sales and donations at Marco's Closet, the story's resale store, from 4,716 different sales
• Engaged 115 volunteers (45 long-term, 14 from JFS and 50 short-term, including students)
