Village Voice: Watering your garden with potable water? Consider the summer sewer credit

Watering your garden and/or lawn with potable water? Consider the Summer Sewer Credit.

Each summer, many Ada residents increase their water usage as a result of watering their gardens and lawns. Per Codified Ordinance 921.13, residents may apply for a sewer credit to help offset that added sewer expense.

An annual fee of $5.00 must be paid in order to qualify for the credit. That payment can be made at the Water Office, beginning immediately.

God Rocks now featured in The Inn at ONU gift shop

Handmade bracelets, necklaces and plaques created by God Rocks are now offered in The Inn at ONU gift shop, Ada.

Connie Grashel from Portage, Ind., is the artist behind the creations. Although not from Ada, she has a niece who attends ONU and a cousin employed at ONU.

Carrying a religious theme, the items are meant to be carried as a reminder that God is our rock and our salvation, says Grashel.

“When things get tough they are a reminder that God is there for us,” she said.

Exactly how deep is the pavement on Ada's Main Street?

Good question. How did it get that deep, what are those bricks doing under the pavement, how long have they been there, and what's under the bricks?

These questions are surfacing - excuse the pun - as a water line is being placed across Main Street at Lima Avenue.

With the intersection closed and digging underway, one can study the history of the street by observing what's being uncovered.
