Ohio Northern University registering organizations, businesses, residents for ACE Day

Ohio Northern University is currently registering organizations, businesses, and residents for its third annual Ada Civic Engagement (ACE) Day to be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon.

A partnership with the village of Ada, the ACE Day program provides opportunities for ONU’s first-year students to not only engage with the community but also contribute to the village’s beautification.

Stop and smell the clustered bellflowers

The next time you walk by the Ada railroad depot park, stop and smell the clustered bellflowers. Also, pause and admire the bee balm, dianthus, gallarda, scabiosa, speedwell and lots of day lillies. Watch for more flowers to smell all week. These flowers will also be posted on the Bluffton Icon this week.

Now let me think..I know where this is!

Welcome to Ada’s A-B-C Summer Contest.

Each week in June and ending in the first week of July, The Icon will post two photos revealing one letter (or number) taken from Main Street Ada buildings and structures. All photos were taken in May by the Icon’s official contest photographer, Bailey Bowers. The photos cover Main from College Avenue on the south to Highland Avenue on the north.

We invite Icon viewers to keep track of the letters by identifying each letter’s location. An entry form is attached to this story for viewers to keep up to date in the contest.

Where are you going to school and what are you studying?
I am currently attending The Ohio State University at Lima and I am majoring in Analytical Broadcasting and Practice with either a Music or Psychology minor. I am planning on making the campus change [to OSU’s main campus in Columbus] in the fall of 2015. When I get there, the plan is to stay in an apartment with a few of my Lima friends instead of living in a dorm. I already did that at Bowling Green, and I most certainly do not want to do that again.
