Raisin' Cane on Freed Center stage Jan. 16

Here's a program at the Freed Center on the ONU campus that you won't want to miss.

On Friday, Jan. 16, it's Raisin' Cane a 7:30 p.m. performance starring the award-winning actress, singer and dancer Jasmine Guy, and the acclaimed Avery Sharpe Trio.

Raisin' Cane celebrates and honors the legendary voices of the Harlem Renaissance through text, song, music, movement and imagery. Raisin' Cane was written and conceived by Harry Clark.

ONU quarterback Patrick Angle tosses 48-yard TD pass in Mexico bowl game

Ohio Northern quarterback Patrick Angle threw a 48-yard touchdown pass to lead Team Stars & Stripes in a 31-17 loss to Mexico in the 2014 Tazon de Estrellas Saturday afternoon at the Templor del Dolor.

The Mexicans evened the series between the two countries at 3-3 with the victory, snapping the Americans' two-game winning streak.

Angle, who was one of the four captains for Team Stars & Stripes, finished the day 10-of-24 passing for 132 yards and a touchdown.

His TD pass came with 4:29 left in the opening period to Brendon Boerm of Central (Iowa) to tie the game at 7-7.

Here's a portion of an interesting Ada Christmas tree. You'll find it in the office of McIntosh Center on the ONU campus. The tree was decorated by students at Ready, Set, Grow Preschool.

English Icon muffins - better than store-bought

If so read on and you may never need to have store-bought English muffins on your grocery list.

These muffins are a bit tricky to create, but we are certain that after the first skillet comes off the oven top, you’ll figure out the secret to create a perfect one.

Here’s all you need:

   4 cups of white flour
   1 ½ teaspoon salt
   ½ teaspoon sugar
   1 tablespoon yeast
   1 tablespoon olive oil

We created 16 muffins from this recipe.
