Dora Dyer 1921-2015

Dora (Minix) Dyer, 93 died on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 7:15 p.m. at residence in Alger.

She was born on December 6, 1921, in Carver, Kentucky, to Kim and Doris (Williams) Minix who preceded her in death. On November 2, 1940 she married Dexter Dyer and he died on May 14, 2001.
She was a homemaker.

Ada, Bluffton, Beaverdam McDonald's offer Tax Relief Day special

Lewis Family McDonald’s is giving people a break on tax day.

Area locations will be offering a special promotion on Wednesday, April 15. Customers who buy one Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese can get the second for just a penny.

“Tax Relief Day has become a promotion that our guests look forward to every year,” said Jerry Lewis, McDonald’s owner. “Our tax day event is just one more way we are bringing our guests great value.”

The promotion runs the entire day and is available at McDonald’s in Lima, Bluffton, Ada, Delphos, Beaverdam, Ottawa, Upper Sandusky, Van Wert, Carey, and Hicksville.

Amvets fish dinner April 17 in Kenton

The Amvets Post 1994, Kenton, will hold an all-you-can-eat fish dinner Friday, April 17. The dinner is available for a $7 donations. Doors open at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch and 5 to 7 p.m. for dinner. The dinner is at 417 W. Espy St., Kenton.

Kenton Amateur Radio Club meets April 27

The Kenton Amateur Radio Club will meet on Monday, April 27, at 6 p.m. at Henry’s Restaurant, Kenton. Dinner is at 6 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. Anyone interested in Amateur Radio is welcome to attend.

45 Ada eighth graders will visit nation's capital

It's off to Washington, D.C., soon for 45 Ada eighth grade students and six chaperones.

The group will leave on the evening of April 15 and return April 19 after touring monuments and memorials, including the Holocaust Museum and laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Mike Styer is trip coordinator. This is the 16th trip to D.C. he has organized for Ada students.
The students earned money for the trip by selling Mothers' Day flowers and 50/50 tickets at basketball games.
