It's VBS season - here's a look at St. Mark's Lutheran

This the season for Vacation Bible School.

First out of the shoot is St. Mark's Lutheran. Making frogs on lily pads are (from left) Kaelah Yeary, Karissa Fox, Brianna Lambert, Robyn Newland, and Hannah Hines.

Camp Discovery is this year's theme. The children learn Bible stories, memorize a Bible verse, and have fun, too - play games and make crafts.

The coins they give this year will go to Lutheran disaster relief. Children will also bring food items for the Ada Food Pantry.

The closing event was Friday with lunch and a program.

First Baptist Church VBS June 22-26

First Baptist Church of Ada, 350 West North Street, will hold Vacation Bible School June 22-26 from 6-8 p.m. This year's theme is "Jungle Safari" for ages 4 through 12.  All are invited to come.  Children must be potty trained.

Auglaize Bible Church VBS June 16-19

Auglaize Bible Church will hold Vacation Bible School called "Operation Sword & Shield," June 16-19 from 6-8:30 p.m. "Operation Sword & Shield" is open to children ages 4-12. They will enjoy singing, skits, action stories, crafts, and refreshments. Everyone is welcome.

The church is located at 2525 S. Phillips Road.

Blessing of the bikes June 7 at Sugar Grove

route 81 Ada, two miles east of state route 235. The service begins at
9:30 am.

First United Methodist Church ice cream social June 17

Ada First United Methodist Church, 301 N. Main St., will hold an ice cream social from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, at the church.

The event takes place in the church Wesley Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $6 for adults, and children 10 and under $4.

The menu includes sandwich or hot dog, salad, chips, brownie, and Dietsch's Ice Cream plus toppings.
