With yellow hard hats, much fanfare and remembering the past, Ada's United Methodist dedicate the future

The First United Methodist Church, Ada, was dedicated on Sunday.

In July 2013 the congregation voted to move forward with construction of their new church building on their historic site in downtown Ada.

This $6 million, 25,000-square-foot project is supported by insurance receipts from the tragic March 2012 fire and significant gifts from members, friends, and other churches.

The Icon offers a photo series of events on Sunday below this story. Monty Siekerman is the photographer.

Here's Ada church Maundy Thursday schedules

Several Ada churches will have Maundy Thursday services at 7 p.m. They are:

The church steeples of Ada - how well do you know them?

Holy Week is here. The Icon challenges viewers to see how good you are at looking up.

Monty Siekerman photographed nine Ada church steeples. These are found in the attachment below this story. See how many you can identify.

There's a challenge in this contest. We've provide a "easy" series of photos that we hope everyone passes. Consider it a warm-up to the Icon Church Steeple Final Exam. In the final we've provided only photos of the very top of the steeples. See how you can master this final test.

And, there's a bonus. Two churches in Ada don't have steeples. See if you can identify those two churches.

Good luck!
