Bulldogs softball takes down Allen East

Playing at home, the Ada High School softball team defeated local rival Allen East 7-3 in a key Northwest Conference contest Wednesday evening, April 19.

With the victory, Ada remained tied for first in the conference standings with perennial power Crestview at 4-0.

The Bulldogs record improved to a sparkling 13-1 overall after the win. The Mustangs dropped to 5-6 overall and 1-1 in NWC play with the loss.

Bulldogs tennis win vs. Lima Senior

LIMA–The visiting Ada High School tennis team defeated Lima Senior 4-1 Wednesday evening, April 19, for their first win of the spring.

The Bulldogs won all three singles matches and the first doubles bout to take the match convincingly and improve to 1-2.

Bulldog baseball blanks Tigers

Playing at home, the Ada High School baseball squad shut out North Baltimore 10-0 in a non-league game on a sunny but cool Tuesday evening, April 18, at the War Memorial Park diamond.

“The kids played well,” said Ada head coach Toby Smith. “We pitched solid, got timely hitting and played solid defense.”

The Bulldogs improved to 4-6 overall with the run-rule win.  NB dropped to 2-6 with the defeat.

Ada senior hurler Roman Snyder pitched a five-inning shutout to earn the win.

The Bulldogs broke open a scoreless game with three runs in the home half of the third inning.

Two runs scampered in when Max Puerto’s sacrifice bunt was thrown away by the defense. Levi Green then bounced a grounder to third base that was booted, allowing Puerto to score. 

In the Tiger fourth, Snyder pitched around a two-out single and an error with a pair of strikeouts to preserve the shutout.

Polar Bear women's golf at Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.—The Ohio Northern women's golf team braved inclement weather conditions to move up one spot to sixth place out of 16 teams in the final nine holes of the 36-hole Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling on Sunday morning at Ironwood Golf Course.

The Polar Bears (71-11 overall) carded a 315-328—643 in the tournament which includes seven teams ranked in the top 25 and 12 ranked in the top 50 nationally.

Bulldog baseball edged late by Botkins

BOTKINS–The visiting Ada High School baseball squad lost an eight-inning heartbreaker to Botkins 3-2 Saturday afternoon.  

Ada fell to 3-6 overall with the defeat.  Botkins improved to 6-4 with the win.

Bulldog boys track & field 7th at Grove Invite

COLUMBUS GROVE–The Ada High School track and field teams competed at the Columbus Grove Bulldog Invitational on Friday, April 14.

The Ada boys finished a solid seventh out of 13 teams, while the Bulldog girls came in 10th.

Bulldog junior Jackson Brown won the 110 high hurdles to post the top Ada finish.

Host Grove won the boys crown, while Anna captured the girls team title.
