Zaferakis, Honigford are Polar Bear of the Month athletes

Senior Cole Zaferakis (Liverpool, N.Y.) and junior Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) have been selected as the Ohio Northern athletic department's Polar Bear of the Month award winners for April.

Bulldog softball seeded 3rd in sectional

The Ada High School softball team was seeded third in the 12-team Div. IV sectional/district drawing Sunday, April 30.

Ada (14-3) earned a first-round bye and thus will host the winner between fifth seed St. Henry (10-7) and eighth seed Ridgemont (4-13) Thursday, May 11 in the sectional finals at 5 p.m.

The winner advances to the district semifinals at Wapakoneta May 15. If the seeds go according to form, Ada would play second seed Parkway (14-3) in the district semis.

Midwest Athletic Conference leader Minster (20-1, 5-0 MAC) was seeded first, and the Panthers (5-1 MAC) were voted second.

Parkway got a bye and will host the May 8 winner between eighth seed Hardin Northern (5-14) and number nine Waynesfield (4-10) on May 11 in their sectional final.

Minster will entertain the Perry/LCC winner May 11. 

Sixth seed USV (11-4) will host seventh seed Marion Local (5-14) May 8 in first round action. The winner advances to visit fourth seed New Bremen (8-6) May 11 in the sectional finals.

Bulldog baseball shut out by Knights

Playing at home, the Ada High School baseball team fell behind early and lost 8-0 to Crestview in a Northwest Conference contest Thursday evening, April 27.  

The Bulldog boys fell to 4-11 overall and 0-6 in the NWC with the defeat. Crestview improved to 11-2 and 6-1 in NWC play with the win.

The Ada High School softball team played perhaps the biggest regular season game in program history when they hosted perennial power Crestview in a first-place showdown between unbeaten league foes before a big crowd Thursday evening, April 27, at War Memorial Park.

Bulldog tennis battles Bath on Sr. Night

The Ada High School tennis team hosted powerful Bath on Senior Night and battled hard before losing a tough 4-1 decision Wednesday evening, April 26, at the park courts.

The Bulldogs fell to 2-5 with the difficult defeat.

Bulldog baseball falls to LCC

The Ada High School baseball team lost a 13-7 slugfest to visiting Lima Central Catholic in a non-conference contest Monday evening, April 24.

The Bulldog boys fell to 4-9 overall with the defeat.  LCC improved to 6-1 with the win.
