Ada’s Jolliff to play soccer at ONU

ADA – Ada High School senior Logan Jolliff will be staying close to home next year. 

On November 12, the scoring ace signed a letter of intent to attend and play soccer at Ohio Northern University.

Jolliff scored 31 goals and passed out 10 assists this past season to help lead Ada to a sparkling 14-5 record. His 72 points led the team, and were just eight shy of the program single-season record of 80 set by Andy Fetter. 

ONU women's soccer wins OAC Championship

ADA __ The Ohio Northern women's soccer team won the program's sixth OAC Tournament Championship with a 3-2 victory over John Carroll on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Venue: Kerscher Stadium — Ada, Ohio.

John Carroll scored first in the 11th minute to go up 1-0 early in the game.

Three Ada girls receive district soccer honors

Three Ada High School girls soccer players received Div. V All-Northwest district honors in voting recently conducted by area coaches.

Senior forward Lexi Poling made the second team. She scored a team-high 11 goals and passed out one assist to finish 2024 with 23 points.

Junior playmaking midfielder Alex Gibson also earned second team all-district notice. Gibson led Ada with five assists and also netted four goals to total 13 points this season.

She took most of the team’s corner kicks and directed much of the offense with deft passing.

Ada High School senior goal-scoring ace Logan Jolliff earned Div. V Northwest all-district first team and all-state soccer honors in voting recently conducted by area coaches.

The speedy Jolliff netted 31 goals, including a school-record nine in one game vs. Cory-Rawson, this season. He also passed out 10 assists for 72 points.
He finished among the top eight in voting for the all-district squad, which automatically made him an all-state choice.

2 Ada Bulldog golfers honored by BVC

ADA – Two Ada High School golfers received All-Blanchard Valley Conference honors for 2024.

Senior Ethan Lawence and sophomore Brody Rister were both named honorable mention All-BVC.

Leipsic’s Brevin Brandt earned BVC Player of the Year honors.

Van Buren mentor Eric Heitkamp was named BVC Coach of the Year by his peers. VB won the league championship with 920 strokes as they captured all three conference tournaments. 

The Ada Bulldogs finished eighth in their first season as a member of the 10-team league at 1,264 total strokes.

Ada ousted by Leipsic in playoff rematch

ADA – Costly turnovers and penalties plagued Ada in the second half of their Div. VII, Region 26 first round playoff rematch vs. league rival Leipsic on a chilly Friday night at War Memorial Stadium.
