ADA – The Ada High School girls basketball program is in rebuild mode as the Bulldogs enter the Blanchard Valley Conference for the 2024-25 season.

ONU Men's Soccer falls 4-1 at No. 15 Denison

GRANVILLE — The No. 19-ranked Ohio Northern men's soccer team fell 4-1 at No. 15-ranked Denison in the Second Round of the NCAA III Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The Basics

Records: #19 Ohio Northern (14-4-4 overall), #15 Denison (14-1-6 Overall).

Venue: Barclay-Thomsen Field — Granville, Ohio.

The Match

Denison scored just 2:10 into the match to take a quick 1-0 lead.

Fifth-year senior Cade Winchester (Knoxville, Tenn./Alcoa) answered with an unassisted goal in the ninth minute to tie the game up.

The Big Red scored in the 20th minute and again 38th minute to take a 3-1 lead at halftime.

ONU women's soccer falls 2-0 to No. 3 Washington & Lee (Va.)

LEXINGTON, Va. — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team fell 2-0 to No. 3-ranked Washington & Lee in the Second Round of the NCAA III Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The Basics

Records: Ohio Northern (15-6-1 Overall), Washington & Lee (20-1-1 Overall).

Venue: Alston Parker Watt Field — Lexington, Va.

The Match

The Generals scored in the 26th minute and again in the 37th minute.

Senior Julia Flanagan (Dublin/Watterson) led Ohio Northern with two shots.

Sophomore Emma Gramke (Dayton/Centerville) had five saves in goal for ONU.

WLU out-shot ONU 16-5 and had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Women's Soccer earns 2-0 NCAA II tournament victory over No. 25 Sewanee (Tenn.)

Polar Bears play No. 3 Washington & Lee (Va.) in the Second Round of the NCAA III Tournament on November 17 at 1:30 p.m.

LEXINGTON, Va. — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team earned a 2-0 win over No. 25-ranked Sewanee (Tenn.) in the First Round of the NCAA III Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

Records: Ohio Northern (15-5-1 Overall), Sewanee (13-2-4 Overall).

Venue: Alston Parker Watt Field — Lexington, Va.

The Match

Senior Julia Flanagan (Dublin/Watterson) scored just 5:19 into the match off an assist from senior Libby Johnson (Fairfield) to take an early 1-0 lead.

Senior Brianna Gervers (Grand Blanc, Mich.) scored off an assist from junior Rileigh Glassburn (Delaware/Olentangy Berlin) in the 74th minute to go up 2-0.

Sophomore Emma Gramke (Dayton/Centerville) had two saves in goal for ONU.

Sewanee out-shot ONU 10-8 and had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Baumgartner signs to swim at Ohio U

Ada senior has qualified for 2024 USA junior nationals

Ada High School senior swimming ace Lily Baumgartner made official what she verbally announced a year ago by signing a letter-of-intent to attend and swim at Ohio University next year. She also considered attending Marshall and Bowling Green, but decided on OU due to the comfort level and academic program. 

“I really liked the team atmosphere at Ohio,” said Baumgartner of her visit to the Athens campus. “I knew that their swim program was perfect for me. I liked how the coaches interacted with the team.
