The Ada High School girls soccer team will play at seventh-seeded Upper Sandusky at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17 in Div. III sectional first round tournament action.
The Lady Bulldogs (5-9) were seeded ninth in the 12-team Bluffton sectional/district. Ada lost to visiting Upper Sandusky 4-2 on September 22, so they will get a chance to avenge that defeat.
The Ada/Upper Sandusky victor will play at second seed Van Buren (10-4-1) Thursday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. The Bulldogs lost 9-1 at VB on October 6.
The Ada High School volleyball team was seeded seventh in the 11-team Div. IV Wapakoneta sectional/district drawing held Sunday, October 9.
Ada (10-10) will play at sixth seed New Knoxville (5-14, 0-7 MAC) in the sectional semifinals Tuesday, October 18 at 6 p.m.
The Ada/New Knoxville winner will face fifth seed Perry (14-6) at Marion Local in the sectional finals. The winner advances to the district semifinals at Wapakoneta.
New Bremen (19-1) is the top seed, followed by MAC foe Marion Local (16-3) in second. Minster (9-11) is third, with Temple Christian (17-3) seeded fourth.
COLUMBUS GROVE--The Ada High School football team fought hard but lost to Columbus Grove 38-12 in a Northwest Conference contest Friday night, October 7, at Clymer Stadium.
The purple and gold trailed just 17-6 at halftime.
"It was a great first half by the (Ada) 'Dogs," said Ada second-year head coach Toby Smith. "We had a couple of short fields that we had to get stops on, and we did.
"After halftime we needed to come out and establish a drive to keep our momentum going, and we didn't," he continued. "The kids kept fighting. We need to play four quarters."
VAN BUREN--The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team tied tough Van Buren 1-1 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Thursday evening, October 6.
The Bulldogs are 5-6-4 overall and 0-4-1 in NCOSA following the road tie.
The Black Knights are now 4-5-4 and 1-0-3 in NCOSA after another tie.
Carter Conley tallied the lone Ada goal on a Nathan Williams assist.
Bulldog keeper Colton Long made six saves in goal.
The Bulldogs host LCC Monday, Oct. 10.
Ada entertains Marion Harding Oct. 13 as they end the regular season with a pair of non-league home games next week.
