2022 Ada HS Yearbooks are in and will be ready to pick up on Wednesday, August 17, according to Tracie Amburgey, yearbook co-advisor.

You may pickup advance orders or purchase yearbooks at the school open house:

  • 6:30-8:00 p.m., August 17
  • Mr. Klingler's room
  • $50.00 

If you can't make it to the open house, please send an email to Mr. Klingler ([email protected]) or Mrs. Amburgey ([email protected]) to arrange a time to pick one up.

Observations by Guy Verhoff

The weather observed in Pandora by Guy Verhoff during the period of August 1-15 was a change of pace.

With temperatures ranging from 51 to 91, short pants and short sleeves were sure to result in a few goosebumps.

ODOT District 1 has issued the following highway construction update for the week of August 15. Outlined work is weather permitting.

State Route 81 on the east side of Township Road 125, approximately one mile west of the village if Dunkirk, will close on Monday, August 15, for approximately two days for a culvert replacement.

TRAFFIC IMPACT
Detour: U.S. 68 to SR 701 to SR 235 back to SR 81 (see attached map).

ODOT District 1 has announced the following construction project for Hardin County this week, impacting traffic in Dunkirk. All outlined work is weather permitting.

U.S. 68/Main Street in the Village of Dunkirk will close on Wednesday, August 10, for one day to repair the railroad. 

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Detour: U.S. 30 to SR 235 to SR 81 back to U.S. 68 (see map).

Official Detour Route: At the intersection of US68 and SR81, go west on SR81 to its intersection with SR235. Go north on SR235 to its interchange with US30. Go east on US30 to its interchange with US68. The same detour applies in reverse for the opposite direction of travel.

On August 9, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio and Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine will welcome Dolly Parton herself to celebrate the success of the Imagination Library program in Ohio.

Our corner of northwest Ohio will also be represented at the luncheon by Annetta Holmes, now retired from United Way and who helped start the program in Hardin County; Karen Moore from Forest-Jackson Public Library; Beccy Ramsey from Ridgemont Public Library; and Stacey Hensley from Alger Public Library. A livestream of the event will be available at www.OhioImaginationLibrary.org/livestream. 

Bulldog Backpack Blessings will be one of the attractions at the August 13 Farmers & Merchants Picnic at Ada's War Memorial Park.

For Ada students in grades K-12, free backpacks and some school supplies will be given out from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (or while supplies last).
